Tlaloc
Rain god; toadstool god.
Venus / Moon / Water / Fire
(Meso-american: Olmec; Aztec)
Tlaloc (also spelled Tlaloque) rules weather, clouds, rain, lightning, agriculture, mushrooms, toadstools, springs, the blue heaven, and all sources of water. Mushrooms and toadstools, particularly psilocybe mushrooms, are sacred to him. Jaguars, butterflies, and serpents are his sacred animals.
Invoke Tlaloc for rain, fertility, creation, farming, visions, serpent power, water magic, and inducing trance states. He is best invoked at mountain springs, during lightning storms, and near water sources. The Aztecs offered him human sacrifices to bring rain.
